Euroupdate with photos

Hi again everyone,

Even though we are only a few days away from heading back to the US, I finally got a chance to sit at a computer with a USB port, so I can share some photos. So here I am, on the afternoon of the 4th, typing away. It happens to be a holiday here too, but not one celebrating American independance. Rather, the queen of Coimbra, Portugal. That´s where we are by the way.

Last time I wrote, we were in the mountains, which I think will be the highlight of our trip. It was quite spectacular there. From there we went to Ronda, a town perched on top of a stone cliff, with some amazing bridges and stairs. We spent a couple of days in Sevilla, but it was ungodly hot and everything closes on Sundays and Mondays, which is when we were there. So we left a day early for Lisbon, where we spent 3 days and are now in Coimbra, the Portugese university town built, you got it, on cliffs. We have done a ton of hill and stair climbing. We´ll go to Salamanca, Spain tommorow, be there on a Sunday (see above) and then back to Madrid and home.

Portugal is really pretty cool, but Portugese is totally non-understandable for me. I can read it mostly, but listening is impossible. Lisbon will always be remembered by Amy and I as the place where we spent 3 nights in the most horrific smelling room imaginable.

Anyway, I have a few photos to share so here they are:

This is Lisbon, with some of it´s amazing tile work.

This is the omni-present Inspector Cleseau car, which cracks me up.

Me storming a castle and

some goofy sideways photos. Sorry for that. I can´t edit them. Also, sorry if they took a long time to load. Again, I can´t edit them. Anyway, Here´s Sevilla, a view from our current room in Coimbra, part of the Moorish Alhambra, and Amy last night having some Vinho Verde. Before I leave, I thought I´d try some of these cool keys. Caio.~
